I Deleted My Goodtodo Account

I had been paying for Goodtodo since December 11, 2009. Fifteen years is long enough for something to stop being a tool. It becomes part of how you work without you realizing it.

Goodtodo did exactly what it was built to do. It held things. And it did it well. But it was built for an individual, and at some point, that stopped being enough. The work I care about now doesn’t live alone. It lives across people.

I didn’t need a better list. I needed something built for a team, with the same simplicity and restraint that made Goodtodo work in the first place.

There were smaller things too. It wasn’t especially good-looking. The experience was solid, but the interface never really evolved. And those details matter to me more than they used to.

Still, this isn’t a takedown. I owe a lot to that platform. It carried fifteen years of work without getting in the way.

And when it was time to leave, it was easy. I unsubscribed, exported my data, and walked away with everything I owned. That part matters more than most people realize.

Goodbye, old friend.

I didn’t replace it. I built what I needed next.
